(Las Vegas, NV — May 6, 2009) Allegiant Air, LCC, a subsidiary of Allegiant Travel Company, (NASDAQ: ALGT) was recently honored with the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Diamond Award of Excellence, the highest level of achievement in the AMT program. The award recognizes the airline and its eligible maintenance technicians for a 100 percent participation rate in the program.

“I applaud the outstanding efforts and dedication of Allegiant’s maintenance technicians,” said Maurice J. Gallagher, the airline’s president and CEO. “This is a tribute to Allegiant’s maintenance techs and their commitment to strengthen our company’s excellent safety record.”

Allegiant has participated in the AMT Awards program for the last three years. Allegiant maintenance and engineering personnel completed nearly 5,000 hours of training resulting in 100 percent participation in the program this year.

“In an aviation marketplace that is facing challenges with fuel costs, a wavering economy and other factors that face airlines today, Allegiant Air’s safety culture instills a positive, pro-active approach with their work force facilitating an excellent work environment,” Peter Yiakos, manager for the FAA’s Flight Standards District Office in Las Vegas, said. “With Allegiant Air’s commitment to safety, their maintenance technicians are encouraged, inspired and trusted to continually improve through education thus promoting a safe and knowledgeable work environment. Well Done!”

The AMT program was established in 1991 and honors aviation maintenance personnel and employers who participate in training opportunities that exceed FAA regulatory requirements. The Diamond Certificate of Excellence is the highest honor the program bestows on a company.”
